Furlough update and prayer request

We’ve been settled on the Central Coast of California for a couple months now, and we’ve been busy homeschooling (Christy), working on the draft of the book of Matthew (Matt), reconnecting with friends and members of our home church, and spending time with family. At the same time, we’re already looking ahead to our return to Papua New Guinea in January, Lord willing. The packing has already begun, we’ve been updating passports, and checking prices for our return airfare. So even though we’re ‘settled’ for the moment, we know that more change is just around the corner.  Would you pray for us, especially our kids, that we would do well through the constant change and transition?

Pray for Emson and Simendi (two men at center) as they distribute Nukna Scripture

While we’re in the USA, we don’t have any contact with the Nukna people back in Papua New Guinea, but our thoughts and prayers are constantly with them. Two of our co-translators, Simendi and Emson, told us before we left that they were planning to hike through the jungles and mountains to visit all the far-flung Nukna villages, in order to make the recently completed books of Luke and Acts available to all the Nukna people. We don’t know how that’s gone, or even if it’s happened at all.  But we are praying that God has opened the doors, and that His Word is being distributed far and wide around the Nukna area.  Would you join us in praying for this vital need?
